Zombie trend video doesn’t look like you? How to fix it

Why an AI zombie trend video can lose your likeness or turn the wrong person, and the photo fixes that solve most of it before you try again.

3 min read · Updated

Why faces drift

The model sees one photo of each of you and has to invent everything else: other angles, other expressions, and the turned look. The less your photo shows, the more it guesses. Check the likeness in the warm ending, not the zombie shots: the turned look is meant to hide features.

Problems and fixes

It looks like someone else

Use a photo where you face the camera, eyes open, in even daylight, with no beauty filter. Side angles, sunglasses and strong shadows are the most common causes. See best photos for the zombie trend.

The wrong person turned

Press “Swap who turns” between the two photos, or put each photo in the other slot, and make it again.

The two of you blend together

This happens when both photos look alike: same pose, same background, similar clothes. Pick photos that are clearly different, one person in each.

Your pet looks like a different animal

Use a photo at their eye level with the whole face and any markings in view. Flash photos change eye colour, and a blurry photo loses the markings that make them yours.

Your hair or style is out of date

The video follows the photo, so use a recent one if you want to look like you do now.

What happens to your credits

If a render fails, the credits come back automatically. If a finished video is clearly broken, for example a missing face or a frozen shot, write to us and we will refund it; the refund policy has the details. A video that came out fine but not the way you hoped isn’t refunded, so it pays to check the photos first.

Questions

Why doesn’t my zombie trend video look like me?

The model sees one photo of each person and has to invent every other angle and expression, so side angles, sunglasses, strong shadows and beauty filters make it guess. A front-facing photo in even daylight fixes most cases.

How do I change who turns into the zombie?

The first photo is the one who stays human and the second is the one who turns. Swap the two photos, or press “Swap who turns” in the maker, and make the video again.

Do I get my credits back if the video doesn’t look like me?

If the render fails, or the finished video is clearly broken, yes. A video that rendered correctly but doesn’t look the way you hoped isn’t refunded, so check the photos before you generate.
